From car exhausts to building construction, from city-wide clouds of pollution to colossal power plants with billowing masses of smog, it can be easy to think of air pollution as something you leave outside when you walk indoors - but homes can have their own air quality issues.

The quality of the air we breathe is of concern to many, as are the negative impacts that pollutants can have on health in the short term and the lasting effects. Many of us have the potential to come into contact with air contaminants in our day to day lives, so it is vital that efficient monitoring measures are in place to keep us from harm.

Long-term exposure to even slightly elevated levels of air pollution can be linked to accelerated development of lung damage. Therefore effective air quality monitoring is important to minimize risks to health.
